swissbib performs ranking based on field and term weighting.

Ruleset for Ranking

The following fields are included in the ranking weighted differently:

• freshness *
• main title (100)
• sub title (80)
• subjects (80)
• additional titles (70)
• author names (70)
• congress names (10)
• other index-fields (like fulltext) (5)

* freshness is primarily based on the publication date of =008 and secondly on the date, when the record is loaded to the index.
